Easter Holidays

20 03 2008

Attention all Y6’s

For all of your Easter challenge tasks (and things that will help you with your revision) check the blog regularly for updates. Your first task will is to write a journalistic report to this headline:

Child Catastrophe at the Circus

Try to use all of the features of journalistic writing. If you can’t remeber them all the click here for a guide - features-of-journalistic-wilf.doc

Remember, if you are a level 4, you need to dig a little deeper; what/who will this effect, why is it such a catastrophe? Section C (style) is where you can score lots of points.

If you do your report on the computer then you can leave it as a comment to this messgae and other children can read it for inspiration. Which one of you is going to be first?

To really test your problem solving skills, logic and have some fun, look at this website:

Remember that doing just an hour a day of revision will stop your brain from turning to mush!

Yesterday, a child was attacked and killed by a starved lion.

At 9PM on Thursday 19th March, James Miller was eaten by a starved lion that had escaped from Tandy circus. 12-year-old James had been walking around Tandy circus when the lion-Jack-leapt out in front of him and dived for his neck.
Tandy circus is being questioned why the lion was starved and the A.R.A (animal rights association) is appealing to shut the circus down. The circus admitted that they starved the lion to make him all the more frenzied on stage.
Jack the lion is being sent to the lion sanctuary in Essex and is being treated for extreme starvation. Animal biologist-Sir Bidged Gkjav has stated that although the lion has whipping injuries and a dose of lion flu he is likely to recover.
Mourning the death of James continually is the Miller family who are currently making an investigation into how and why the lion was allowed to escape. These incidents are very rare and the chances of being attacked by a lion in England are slimmer than winning the lottery.
There is currently only one witness to the death of James Miller who is traumatized and having sessions with their local therapist. Tandy circus is to be closed down immediately. To put your opinion forward please visit: http://www.dailyladybirdtimes.com/Tandycircus

on the 19th of June 2008 a 6 year old named Tyler Watkins was having a fun day at the circus (like many 6 year olds) when he was around the animal cages, when Tyler was eating a bannana. One of the savage monkeys attacked him with it’s claws trying to snatch any food the young 6 year old was carrying. The trainers of the monkey were called in to get it off the screaming Tyler that was now rolling on the floor. Local members of the Monkey Saftey Society were called in to see to the raging animal. A member of the M.S.S named Mic Muffin
was shocked to see that the monkeys were being tortued with food so that they would do better in the acts.Young Tyler is now resting easy in his home with a cast on his neck, luckly the damage to him wasen’t too serious and one VERY lucky Tyler is now spending time with his loving family
